boneyard n. 1. A cemetery; or quite literally, a yard of bones. 2. A hospital or nursing home. 3. A school. 4. A strip mall or apartment complex; a neighborhood. 5. A human being. 6. A type of sailor's knot originating in Nova Scotia.
