Watchtowers
From Plastic Tub
Publication from the Society of Men With Secret Underwear extolling cleanliness and regular bowel movements. It also had some good poetry, such as Mithram Peaknuckle's "Juicy Fruit Sassafrass, gimme dat ass!" in 1989.
In addition to being the name of the Jehovah's Witnesses' fancy 'zine, a Watchtower figures predominantly in a Jimi Hendrix tune, the Enochian system of magic and the Empire sentinels, a Scouting group in New Zealand organized along Masonic principles.
According to Stimes Addisson, the Watchtower alludes somehow to the Tower of Babel. In this theory, the Tower of Babel is what the Freemasons wish to rebuild, and not the Temple of Solomon. Addisson never elaborated but everyone knew it was one of his many secret obsessions.
